Cooking Regular Foods on a Yeast Free Diet
There are several reasons you may want to follow a yeast free diet. One such reasons is that you are showing signs of the symptoms of candida, mouth thrush or any other type of fungal infection.
These are all strong signs that you may have a yeast infection and the best way to combat this problem is to go on a yeast free diet. This can be done for about two weeks and ideally should include the use of anti-fungal medication.
The primary things to remember are:
1. Eliminate any type of refined sugar
2. Limit intake of carbohydrates
3. Remove vinegar and vinegar dressings
The above are some of the things known to aggravate the condition and start to produce the symptoms of candida in those susceptible. If they happen to be some of the things you like to enjoy, then just remember that it is just a temporary change.
What Should You Consume?
There are some foods that you can safely consume that do not include any of the additives mentioned above. These include the following:
- Lean meats
- Beans
- Non starchy vegetables (broccoli, solid vegetables, cauliflower)
They may not be your favourite foods but they are good for you and will help clear your yeast problem.
Other Choices You Can Make
If you choose to include fruit into your diet then you can focus more on berries and apples that are still favorable to your condition. You can eat nearly any kind of vegetable, steaming them for a good taste.
Grains are usually processed and this means that they are bad for people who are on a yeast free diet. You should instead try quinoa, buck wheat and other forms of non-processed wheat. You should also opt for for non-starchy vegetables.
New and Unexplored Choices
This condition can be a blessing in disguise for you because you will have a choice to try out foods that you may never have tried before. There are nuts and seeds that you can enjoy, such as Brazil nuts, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds and a lot of other seeds. If you are brave then you can even have raw garlic as this is a way of directly killing candida.
Ultimately it boils down to this; you have to avoid processed foods. If you like to drink then you must find a substitute for alcohol.
